Trouble-shooting

The fan fails to start or shows no response at all after installation, or it suddenly stops working after being used for a period of time.

1.Confirm you are using a 12V DC power source and that the positive/negative terminals are correctly connected;

2.Check if the fuse is blown – replace it with a same-spec fuse if necessary;

3.Inspect all cable connections for looseness, damage, or disconnection;

4.Use a test light to check if power is reaching the control box – if power is present but the fan doesn’t run, the control board may be faulty.
If the issue persists after these checks, please contact us through support@kemimoto.com and send us a short video showing your wiring setup and the fan’s response when powered on. We’ll diagnose it further from there.

The fan emits a piercing whine, a scraping sound, a clicking sound, or other abnormal noise while running.

Some wind noise and motor sound at high speeds are normal. However, if you hear high-pitched squealing, continuous grinding, or clicking sounds, there may be an issue. Please follow these steps:

1.Power off the unit and check if the fan blades are contacting the shroud or guard;

2.Check for foreign objects (e.g., zip ties, wire fragments, small debris) caught inside the fan;

3.Check if the mounting bolts are over-tightened or too loose – over-tightening can stress bearings, while looseness can cause rattling.

Even when the fan is set to the highest speed, the airflow is very weak and fails to achieve the desired effect.

First, please confirm you have set the fan to the highest speed setting. If airflow is still insufficient, possible causes include:

1.Blocked air intake – check if the roof liner or wiring is obstructing the fan inlet;

2.Unstable power supply voltage – low voltage will reduce fan speed, please make sure the voltage to be 12V;

3.Fan positioning – adjust the fan angle to point directly toward the driver and passenger areas.
If you’ve checked all above and still find the airflow inadequate, please further contact us through support@kemimoto.com and send a video to show the issue directly.

The fan's LED lights (top light or RGB lights) do not turn on, flicker, cannot be turned off, or remain constantly on.

Please first check the following:
1.Confirm the independent light switch is being operated correctly – some models have separate controls for lights and fans;
2.If the light stays on and cannot be turned off, it may be due to a short circuit caused by moisture – have you recently washed the interior of your vehicle with water?
3.If the light doesn’t turn on at all, check if the wiring harness between the control box and the light module is securely connected.
If the issue persists, please contact us through support@kemimoto.com and send us a video showing the abnormality. We’ll provide further help after confirmation on the item issue.

After pressing the speed control button or turning the knob, the fan speed does not change.

Please first confirm you are operating it correctly: This product uses button/knob-based speed control – each press or rotation cycles through speeds.
If the operation is correct but there’s no response, please check:
1.Whether the control box has been exposed to moisture or water – this can cause button failure;
2.Whether the wiring harness between the control box and fan motor is securely connected;
3.Try powering off and restarting the unit to see if it resets.
If the issue persists, please contact us through support@kemimoto.com and send us a video showing your operation and the item issue for further diagnosis.

The fan automatically sags or shifts position during vehicle operation, or the mounting bolts fail to remain tight.

This is usually caused by insufficient tightness of the pivot bolts. Please try:
1.Tighten the pivot bolts on both sides of the fan to increase friction and hold the angle;
2.Be careful not to over-tighten – this may cause the fan blades to contact the shroud and create noise;
3.If the issue persists after adjustment, please contact us through support@kemimoto.com and send a video to show the issue directly so that we could come up with further help.

The fuse blew again shortly after being replaced, and the fan failed to operate properly.

A repeatedly blown fuse is usually caused by circuit overload or a short circuit. Please follow these steps:
1.Check if the fan blades are blocked by debris – a stalled motor will draw excessive current;
2.Inspect all wiring for damage, exposed conductors, or contact with the vehicle frame – this can cause a short circuit;
3.Confirm your vehicle’s power supply voltage is stable and within the 12V rating;
If all checks pass, please further contact us through support@kemimoto.com and send a video to show the voltage connection status and the item issue.

After the fan has been running for a short time, a distinct smell of burning or plastic is detected, or even smoke is seen.

Please cut off power immediately and stop using the fan.

This is usually caused by motor overload or an internal short circuit. Possible causes include:
1.Fan blades are blocked by debris, causing the motor to stall and draw excessive current;
2.Motor bearings are seized, leading to overload and overheating;
3.Damaged wiring causing a short circuit.
4.Over-voltage.
Do not continue to power on the unit for testing, as this may cause further damage or safety hazards. Please further contact us through support@kemimoto.com and send us some photos to show your wiring setup, the connected voltage, and the item issue. We will further help check the issue and provide help.

The fan does not spin at all, or there is noticeable resistance or a sensation of sticking when the blades are turned by hand.

Please cut off power first, then follow these steps:
1.Check if the fan blades are blocked by foreign objects (e.g., zip ties, wire fragments, small debris);
2.Gently spin the blades by hand – if you feel significant resistance or grinding, the bearings may be faulty;
3.Check if the blades are contacting the shroud or guard – the mounting may have shifted.
If the blades still won’t spin freely after removing any obstructions, please send us a video showing the blade condition for further assistance.

After installing the fan, the vehicle door cannot close properly or interferes with the overhead audio system.

This is usually caused by interference between the clamps/mounting brackets and your doors or overhead audio system. Please:
1.Send us clear photos of the mounting area – we’ll help assess if there’s an alternative installation approach;
2.If the clamps are interfering with the door seal, try adjusting the clamp angle or position slightly;
3.Please note: This fan is designed as a universal-fit product. Roof structures and door designs vary by vehicle model, and some aftermarket modifications may require additional adjustments.
